About Us and our
Ragdolls

Our Cozy
home in the
Spring

We're a
small
in-home
registered
Ragdoll
Cattery
established
in 1998.
We're Native
Houstonians
and still
live in the
Houston/Galveston
Bay area.
As conscious
breeders, we
work to
improve the
breed
and breed towards the written
CFA/TICA Ragdoll breed standard.
We are a
FeLv & FIV
free
cattery.
Our Ragdolls
have been
DNA/HCM
tested for
the Maine
Coone &
Ragdoll
gene.
(Feline
Hypertrophic
Cardiomyopathy)

Myself/Brenda
have had
cats for
40yr.s so
birthing/raising
kittens
wasn't new
but
showing,
breeding
pedigreed
cats and
the
genetics
of all it
was.
We're the
type of
people, if
your going
to do
something,
do it
right.
Having
such a
wonderful
husband, I'm
able to stay
home full
time to
give our Ragdolls and
their
kittens 24/7
TLC. We're very
selective on
the Ragdolls
we use for
our breeding
program and dedicated to breeding the healthiest,
most beautiful, lovable/huggable Ragdolls
We have 6 or
less litters
a year which
are spread
out through
the year so
we're able
to spend
more time
with each
individual
kitten. These
sweet and
trusting
kittens are
raised in
our bedroom,
sharing our
pillows,
curling up
in the
covers and
receiving
lots of
hugs, kisses
and love 24/7.
We breed the
traditional
colors of
seal & blue
and have a
small red
program.
Our Ragdolls
are our pets
and receive
only the
best of
care.
They live in
our home
with us and
our kittens
are never
caged.
Our females
and alters
have full
roam of the
house
"except for"
when the
boys are out
of their
room in
their stud
pants.

Optimal health for our Ragdoll kittens & cats begin with a
wholesome, natural and healthy diet. Human grade chicken, turkey, foods
high in meat protein, vitamins, minerals, Omega 3 & 6 fatty acids and
natural preservatives like vitamin E. This helps kittens develop strong
immunity systems, gives the adult's a extra boost and easy for them to
digest. My mother always told me "you are what you eat". We prefer foods
that do not have ground yellow corn, corn/wheat gluten meal and meat
by-products. Cats are obligate carnivores and have high requirements for
meat not corn and/or corn/wheat gluten. Next time your in the store pick up a bag
of cat food, look over the
ingredients, to many brands are full of corn and
by-products.
We do not feel our Ragdoll kittens & cats get
everything they need from one food plus not everyone is going to like the
same thing.
Here at Catbird & Co. we show our
Ragdoll cats and kittens regularly at local and national cat shows. They are
handled and judged by professional cat judges. This helps us acknowledge and
maintain the quality that as breeders we are known for and will continue to
be. It also insures that we offer to you that Ragdoll kitten that meets
the beauty and elegance, along with the wonderful personality you want from a
Ragdoll. I do not like going off to cat shows when I have
kittens though.
We are members of and all of our
cats are registered with The International Cat Assoc. (TICA) and
The Cat
Fanciers' Assoc. (CFA).
